SeniorsSkiing.com’s partner, the International Ski History Association, has just published an incredibly valuable resource for senior skiers. In the November-December 2014 issue of Skiing History Magazine, there’s a directory of where seniors can ski for free or for discounts in North America. Thanks to ISHA President (and Seniorsskiing.com Advisory Council Member) Seth Masia for this important information. Consider joining ISHA to receive Skiing History and other benefits such as DVDs and subscriptions to popular skiing magazine. Also a nice gift for ski buffs.
Could you direct me to a free ski list for 80 and over skiers
Pat, We no longer publish the Free (or Deeply Discounted) pass list. Multiple purchase deadlines and other factors made it very difficult to track. As a rule of thumb, smaller areas not owned by Vail Resorts or Alterra are more likely to offer senior discounts. Check my Short Swings! column this Friday for a link to a well-documented list of places with reasonably-priced season passes that offer privileges at other areas.And, if you’re are planning to visit an area, check its website. Sometimes there are some pleasant surprises for older skiers (e.g. Alta, at least through this season, offers free skiing if you’re 80 or older, and Powder Mountain is free if you’re 75 or older). Jon
