Will you be reviewing rear entry boots for the 2021-2022 season?
My experience with Nordica HF boots.
Last fall I purchased a pair of Nordica HF boots for the 20/21 season. Due to Covid I realized we would be booting up in the parking lot for the season.
The booting up process is a breeze as one would expect. Getting in and out isn’t much different than normal foot wear.
I logged 96 days on snow this season and experienced the following:
WARMTH, on a 1 to 10, 10 being best, 10. Cold feet were never an issue.
ENERGY TRANSFER, about the 30th time out I felt that the flex, they are rated at 110, was getting too soft. As a result, I installed a pair of Booster Straps and that solved my problem.
EASE of WALKING, the boot comes with two different toe attachments. I used the beveled attachment all season which made the boots very easy to walk in.
FIT, when purchased I had my fitter install a generic footbed and that worked fine. My heel stayed put but I did find the toebox a bit high for my foot. Was not an issue once I acclimated to it.
GENERAL, the cosmetics, fit and finish met my expectations. The materials Nordica used in this boot were of high quality and even after 96 days the boots look great.
I am 71 and ski mostly blue and single black terrain. I will push beyond those perimeters if the conditions are right.
