From Reader Alyce Perez: In the 41 years that I have skied, it is the first time I have ever skied in October. Mount Snow’s earliest opening day in 64 years. Another first to add to my bucket list.
we had groups that drove up to highmount oiutside kingston ny. we were students at fairleigh dickinson university and started skiing at stoe, falling off the tbar numerous times to learn how to ride a douible t bar.there were rope tows at various areas in those days and some of thenm were wild.all of learned together to ski. highmount had some pretty steep bumpy slopes and rough snow.
